Thousander Club Update: April 9th

For this week’s Thousander Club update:

Game Hours: 262.25 (previous year) + 75.5 (current year) = 337.75 / 1000
Game Ideas: 616 (previous year) + 12 (current year) = 628 / 1000

It’s the tail end of crunch at the day job, and I was in Ohio recently. No real development updates this week, which is frustrating. It is definitely not what a game developer would do.

Your right GB its not what a game developer would do. However, its what a part time game developer, who has responsibilities to work, family and friends, would do. I think your very hard on yourself.

Thanks, Todd. I suppose I have to take into account that there will be times when I can’t focus on game dev at all, just like I didn’t focus on certain other aspects of my life at all when game dev filled a good chunk of my time.

We had a Game Jam last week here in Phoenix (yes I know, I am the king of traitors 🙁 much love to Chicago). Maybe you could organize something like that? It was great for my productivity. We were in “Flashbang Studios” (Matt Wegner’s apartment :)) and coded, arted and farted all weekend.

I’m planning on blogging about it some soon, but you can check out the links to the games on Steve Swink’s blog (http://www.steveswink.com). My game is Conformity.

Also seriously look into Processing, its great!

Actually, if Rohit doesn’t mind, I was wondering about doing something like an Indie Game Jam during the meetup. I suppose a few hours would be a challenge for us to come up with something. B-)

So… I’m not the only one!
Hope you see better results than I do 😀
