Indie Legal: Copyright and Trademark

Every so often, I get surprised that there are still indie game developers who have not learned much about the difference between copyright law and trademark law. Either of these sets of laws is confusing alone, but when people refer to them together with patent law under the umbrella term “intellectual property”, it creates more confusion.
