While not a major update, better that there is an update at all, right? I do have a few games that I am looking forward to reviewing. While I haven't updated the Pending list, I will soon.

I would strongly urge you to use Open Office rather than Microsoft Office, as well as open formats, such as HTML or RTF rather than .doc files. Open formats are better supported. You won't have to upgrade your programs since the standards are real standards that don't change.
On that note, use Mozilla rather than Internet Explorer. It is Free software so you know that any exploits don't depend on some company taking 6 months to patch their bugs.
I would also strongly urge you to not use Windows Media Player 7. Microsoft has Digital Rights Management mentioned in its license agreement. Here is an excerpt:
* Digital Rights Management (Security). You agree that in order to
protect the integrity of content and software protected by digital
rights management ("Secure Content"), Microsoft may provide security
related updates to the OS Components that will be automatically
downloaded onto your computer. These security related updates may
disable your ability to copy and/or play Secure Content and use other
software on your computer. If we provide such a security update, we
will use reasonable efforts to post notices on a web site explaining
the
update.
Translation:
You must allow Microsoft the ability to install software on your system whenever they want to do so, effectively changing the way the system runs. There is no guarantee that such software is safe or that your system will run the same way. By design, Digital Rights Management involves crippling the functionality of your system.
Scary, but true.
